Mediante una serie de calculos y experimentos se evaluo el desempeno del blindaje de una sala de radiodiagnostico, para proteger a las personas que operan el equipo, los usuarios y el personal del hospital. Los calculos se realizaron con base en Norma Oficial Mexicana vigente donde se establecen los criterios de diseno, construccion y supervision de las instalaciones con equipos de rayos X. Para la evaluacion del blindaje se usaron dos criterios, uno a traves del factor de transmision absoluta y el otro usando el factor de transmision relative; las bondades de ambos procedimientos son discutidas. Para evaluar el desempeno del blindaje, usamos dosimetros termoluminiscentes y se medimos la dosis en la barrera primaria y la dosis que recibe el tecnico radiologo. A partir de los resultados obtenidos se emitieron varias recomendaciones.
